A 22-year-old Meridian man will spend the next 10 years behind bars.
Malcolm Davis plead guilty to manslaughter charges during day two of his murder trial Tuesday in Jones County.
Davis is one of four men accused of shooting Eric Trotter, 30, in the head back in May 2007. Authorities said Trotter's death stemmed from a shootout that began at a Heidelberg club and ended on the front steps of his sister's home in Laurel on the corner of 10th Street and Joe Wheeler Avenue.
Davis originally pleaded not guilty. But his attorney offered the state a manslaughter plea deal on Tuesday.
Jones County Assistant District Attorney Dennis Bisnette said the state will prosecute three more men for the death of Trotter.
