Tippah double murder trial set for Monday

RIPLEY, Miss. (AP) - A man charged with murder in the shooting

deaths of his wife and stepfather is scheduled to appear Monday in

Tippah County Circuit Court.

Stephen Grisham is charged in the February 10, 2007, shooting

death of his 29-year-old wife, Sylvia Grisham, and her stepfather,

70-year-old Jerry "Clifford" Mercer. The bodies of the two

victims were found in the Grisham's home in Tippah County.

Authorities declined to comment on a motive for the shooting at

the time of the incident.

Grisham, a construction worker, was 36 at the time of his

arrest. He has been free on a $200,000 bond.
