Linda Boutwell

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

Linda seemed a little overwhelmed with meal plan. However, she is willing to try her best. She does have some concern with the routine due to work schedule. Linda commutes to appointments from Laurel.

I recommended the following: (1)8 cups of water daily, (2) keep food diary, (3) eat slowly.

Linda has been placed on 1500 calorie diet.

WEEK THREE

Linda lost 3.8 lbs this week for a total of 10.8 lbs. Linda has made a lot of lifestyle changes the last couple of weeks. It has been difficult to make all of these changes at once for her. She does admit to a history of mindless eating in the recliner once she got home from work. As with Alicia, this “extra time” has been filled with exercise. We kidded her at and told her that she needed to throw the recliner away. Linda really had us all laughing. Linda is in third place for percentage of weight lost. Great job Linda! Keep up the hard work. It is paying off.

WEEK FOUR UPDATE

Counselor Martha Rosado writes:

Linda lost 2.2 lbs this week for a total of 13 lbs – which puts her in 2nd place for overall percentage of weight lost. She says she has noticed changes in how her clothes fit which is very rewarding. Linda gave a great example tonight about how her attitude about food is changing. In the past she admitted to taking food home after functions and overeating.  This week after a church event, she was offered pizza and turned them down flat!  In group she noted, “I don’t even like pizza!” which spurred a great conversation about not “wasting calories” on high fat foods, especially when you don’t even enjoy them. Good job, Linda.

WEEK FIVE

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

Linda lost 3.2 lbs this past week for a total of 16.2 lbs. Linda is in 2nd place for percent of weight lost. Linda is doing great. She states, “I have eaten more fruit in the last month than I have eaten in the last decade”. I think she said decade. Anyway, she has made great progress in changing her eating habits. Linda has such a great outlook. She always seems to lighten the tone of our weigh-ins with her sense of humor. She keeps surprising us. Keep up the great work Linda. Great Job!

WEEK SIX

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

Linda lost 3.4 lbs this past week for a total of 19.6 lbs. She has lost a total of 15.25 inches. Linda remains in 2nd place with the most % lost. Look out Linda because JR is very close behind. Linda always has a positive attitude and is encouraging to the rest of the group. Her personal goal by the end of the competition is to be below the 200 lb mark. Go for it, Linda! I know that you can do it.

WEEK SEVEN UPDATE

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

Linda has moved into 1st place in the most percentage of weight lost. She lost 2.6 lbs this past week for a total of 22.2 lbs. Linda was pleased with her weight loss, but she is shooting for 22 more lbs of weight loss by the end of the competition. She stated “I am going to have to step it up”. Linda, I know that you can do! Keep up the good work. Congratulations on 1st place!

WEEK EIGHT UPDATE

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

Linda has been in first place for 2 weeks now. She lost 4 lbs this week for a total of 26.2 lbs. Linda had a few questions about eating late after she is done exercising. I told her that the time does not matter. It is the total number of calories that she eats in a day that leads to weight gain or loss along with the amount of physical activity. Keep up the great work!

WEEK NINE UPDATE

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

Linda has been in first place for the past three weeks. She lost 4 lbs this week for a total of 30.2 lbs. She has been so consistent with her weight loss. She has ~ 4 lbs every week. Linda was so excited that she had lost 4 more lbs. She stated that she planned on adding an extra day of spin class in Laurel this week. Linda, you are doing an awesome job.
