Amie has made some changes already to dietary intake. I noticed from her food diary that she does eat out some. She has followed other weight loss programs in the past.

I recommended the following: (1) limit empty calories, (2) 8 cups of water daily, (3) eat slowly, (4) don’t skip meals, (5) keep food diary.

Amie has been placed on 1400 calorie diet.


Week Three

Amie lost 1.2 lbs this week for a total of 5.6 lbs. She was disappointed that she did not lose more weight. She stated that her goal is to lose 5 lbs per week. Like Linda, Amie has made a lot of lifestyle changes since beginning the competition. She is finding the balance between work, school, and exercise. I encouraged her that there is still nine more weeks and to keep up the hard work. You can do this Amie! Hang in there.


WEEK FOUR

Counselor Martha Rosado writes:

Amie lost 2.2 lbs this week for a total of 7.8 lbs. Amie talked about how much she enjoyed the flavors of food. I encouraged her to continue focusing on eating really slowly.  When we eat slower it gives our body a chance to send the message to our brain that we are satisfied.  When it comes to food, think quality over quantity. Enjoy a correct portion size, eat slowly and savor the taste—try to avoid just gobbling up your food. 


WEEK FIVE

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

Amie lost 3 lbs this week for a total of 10.8 lbs. She was so excited. She is aiming for 3 lbs a week. She hugged me she was so excited. I was so happy for her. She is making a lot of progress in overcoming bad eating habits. She has resisted those potato chips that have been on top of the fridge for 2 weeks. I told her to throw them away. I am proud of her hard work. I know that she is trying really hard to overcome the bad eating habits. Hang in there Amie. You still have 7 more weeks of weigh-ins. You can do!!

 


 

WEEK SIX UPDATE

 

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

 

Amie did not lose any weight this week. She has had a rough week. She has been sick with a cold and has had to miss a couple of days of exercise. She went to see a doctor Thursday. She was a little upset that being sick has gotten her off track. Amie, don’t be too hard on yourself. You have lost a total of 17.5 inches. You still have 6 more weeks. I know that you can do this.

 


 

WEEK SEVEN UPDATE

Amie is feeling better this week. She lost 2.6 lbs this week for a total of 22.4 lbs. Amie was very happy with her weight loss, but she was shooting for 3 lbs. You almost got it. Keep up the hard work, and you will get it next week

 


 

WEEK EIGHT UPDATE

Amie lost 3.4 lbs this week for a total of 14.8 lbs. Her weight loss is becoming more consistent each week. Amie, you can do it. If you continue at this pace, you can reach the 30 lb weight loss mark. Give it your best effort.

 


 

WEEK NINE UPDATE

 

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

 

Amie gained 2.4 lbs this week. Her total weight loss is 12.4 lbs. Amie has had a rough week. She landed on her foot wrong at home and hurt her foot. She has not been able to run or do the elliptical this week. Her doctor told her that she could ride a bike, so she decided to go buy a bike to ride outside. I love her effort. Hang in there! You can do it. Really watch your calorie intake.

 


 

WEEK TEN UPDATE

 

Dietician Pam Carr writes:

 

Amie lost 2.8 lbs this week for a total of 15.2 lbs. Amie has recovered from her ankle injury. She made a nice recovery with her weight loss too. She had actually gained a little weight the prior week because of her ankle injury. Keep up the hard work!
