Alicia started restricting calories and exercising once she found out she had been selected to participate in the biggest loser contest. On her own, she has limited her calorie intake to 1400-1500 calories per day. She has even bought a calorie count book from a local book store.

She already drinks at least 8 cups of water daily. She states that she does not like to cook nor have time to cook. She really needs ideas for quick and healthy meals. Alicia likes salty snacks.

I recommended: (1) continue with current water intake, (2) eat food slowly, (3) keep food diary.

Alicia has been placed on a 1600 calorie diet.

Alicia lost 5.2 lbs this week for a total of 15.2 lbs. She is doing an awesome job. She is taking her lunch to school everyday in a small travel size cooler. Often times she eats dinner late because she is getting in late from the gym. Alicia states that she used to eat constantly once she got home from school, but now that time is occupied by exercise. Alicia is leading the “pack” with the highest percentage of weight loss. Keep up the great work Alicia. You are doing an awesome job!

Alicia lost 2.8 lbs this week for a total of 18 lbs. She is the overall leader with the highest weight loss percentage of 6.4%. Alicia has made a huge effort to change her habits! A month ago, She was going without food all day because of her busy schedule and overeating at night… now she brings a healthy lunch and snacks with her to school everyday – which helps her make good choices and ensures she is able to eat through-out the day and keep her metabolism high. Alicia has also been exercising everyday since the competition began!! She has changed her after-work routine from snacking to enjoying time at the gym. All your hard work is paying off – Way to go!

Alicia lost 1.8 lbs this past week for a total of 19.8 lbs. Alicia remains in 1st place with the most percent of weight lost. However, she was very disappointed. She was shooting for 3 lbs of weight loss. She has been exercising so hard (7 days a week for about 60-90 minutes of cardio). I did discuss with her that we need to reach a balance. Seven days a week of exercise is not a realistic expectation for anyone to continue on a long-term exercise program. I reminded her that safe, healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week. She did meet with the exercise physiologist to review her current exercise regimen. We are not making any changes to her meal plan this week. Alicia, you are doing an awesome job. You are so dedicated to this program. You deserve an A+. Keep up the great job!!!

Alicia lost 4 lbs this past week for a total of 23.8 lbs. She has lost a total of 16.5 inches. Alicia is in the lead with the most % lost. What a great come back from the previous week. She was shooting for 3 lbs, but instead got 4 lbs. Jennifer, the exercise physiologist, worked out a new exercise program for her last week, and it has really paid off. She was a little nervous about taking 2 days off from the gym, but she was very happy with her results. Great job! Way to stay focused! Keep up the great work.

Alicia is in 2nd place in the most percentage of weight lost. Linda barely has the lead. Alicia lost 1.4 lbs this week for a total of 25.2 lbs. Alicia did not have a good week. She did not feel really well this week. Alicia, don’t worry about it. We all have that type of week occasionally. I know that you will make up for it next week. Don’t be discouraged! You are doing a great job.

Alicia is in a very close 2nd place. She is so close to regaining first place. Alicia lost 4.4 lbs this week for a total of 29.6 lbs. Alicia had a much better week this week, but she is not a fan of waiting to the end to weigh. Alicia had an awesome recovery from last week. Great job!
