Hattiesburg police arrest robbery suspects

Hattiesburg police arrested two men on armed robbery charges this week.

Police said one of the suspects may have been responsible for multiple Hub City hold ups in the last few weeks.

Anthony Prenell Jones, 24, who was arrested Thursday, is a suspect in the July 27 robbery of a Circle-K Express on Broadway Drive. Investigators said Jones may be connected to several other robberies in the city.

Also taken into custody Tuesday was William Motley, 22, he is accused in the Monday armed robbery of a check cashing store on Hwy 49.

"I'm glad how everything came together and we made this arrest," said Public Affairs Officer Synarus Green. "We hope that it brings some comfort to the citizens of Hattiesburg to know that we are still working hard and that we are still making sure the streets are kept safe."

Both suspects were arrested without incident at Hattiesburg Apartment Complexes.
