One of Hattiesburg's Starbucks among 600 closing

A Hattiesburg Starbucks is among 600 company-owned coffee shops across the country closing in the midst of a faltering economy.

The Starbucks across from Target on Hwy 98 is one of seven in Mississippi closing their doors.

The others are in Batesville, Flowood, Madison, Olive Branch, Pearl and Northpark Mall in Ridgeland.

The coffee chain is responding to recent declines in profits.
