Hattiesburg police investigating third armed robbery

Hattiesburg police are investigating the third armed robbery in five days in the Hub City.

Officers say around 2 a.m. Friday, a BP gas station on Westover Drive was robbed at gunpoint by a medium-build black man wearing jeans and a white cover over his face.

The suspect took cash and fled on foot north on Westover Drive.

Two nights earlier, a liquor store on Hardy Street was also robbed at gunpoint by a slim-build black male teenager wearing a long-sleeved shirt and a black shirt wrapped around his head. After taking money, he also left the area on foot.

Officers said early July 14, a Jr. Food Mart on Hwy 49 was held-up, by a black male of medium-build in his late 30s to early 40s. He was wearing black clothes and white shoes. After taking cash, he too, left the scene on foot. No one was injured in the robberies.

If you have any information about the robberies, call Hattiesburg Police or Metro Crimestoppers at 601-582-STOP.
