Officials still investigating cause of house fire

Officials are still investigating an early morning fire that destroyed a home in Lake Serene Thursday.

No one was home when the fire started before daylight. Neighbors said they heard an explosion. Officials believe the sound came from oxygen tanks inside the house. Family members said the property was home to Rick and Linda Gail ladner for over 30 years.

"They'll move on," said Michael Townsend, a representative for the family. "They're already thinking they'll rebuild, build a new life, and that's what's important in a situation like this."

Family members believe the fire started in the back of the house, but the official cause is still being determined.
