Football Fan Caravan To Kickoff Saturday in Hattiesburg
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The 5th Annual Southern Miss Fan Caravan will make its first stop in Hattiesburg this Sat., June 14 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., at Turtle Creek Mall in Hattiesburg.
Nearly a dozen members of the 2008 football team will be signing autographs, which includes wide receiver Justin Whiddon, offensive lineman Micah Brown and Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, linebacker Gerald McRath.
Seymour, the Southern Miss cheerleaders and athletic department staff will also be on hand.
Season ticket information, schedule cards and posters, will be available as well and several giveaways also are planned. Fans who purchase season tickets at the caravan stop will automatically be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a Coach Larry Fedora autographed football. Season football tickets and the autographed football could make an excellent gift this Father's Day weekend.
The next stop for the Southern Miss Fan Caravan will be on Sat., July 26, as part of the Rotary Children's Fair activities planned at the Edgewater Mall in Gulfport.
Southern Miss will usher in the beginning of the Fedora Era, and the opening of the Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium expansion when the 2008 Golden Eagle Football team welcomes non-conference opponent Louisiana-Lafayette to The Rock on Sat., August 30. The exciting home schedule of Saturday contests also will include Marshall (Sept. 20) UTEP (Oct. 4/Family Weekend), Boise State, (Oct. 11), UAB (Nov. 1/Homecoming) and East Carolina (Nov. 15/Black Out).
