Fallen soldiers to be remembered on Memorial Day

The Pine Belt will join the rest of the nation tomorrow in honoring our nation's fallen soldiers.  Among the cities hosting Memorial Day ceremonies will be both Hattiesburg and Laurel.

The Hub City's 25th annual service will begin at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Hattiesburg.  During the event, the names of the 171 servicemen from Hattiesburg who've lost their lives in combat since World War I will be read aloud.

And in Laurel, a Memorial Day service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Museum on Hillcrest Drive.  During that service, a new exhibit will be dedicated.

It includes a piece of the U.S.S. Arizona that was sunk at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.
