Help requested in case of women shot at kitchen sink

Mississippi Bureau of Investgations and area Crimestoppers are pleading for help in the murder of a Wayne County woman.

Janie Broadway Williams, 56, was shot in the chest while standing at her kitchen window inside of her home on Red Brown Drive in Waynesboro. The murder happened around 1 a.m. March 6. Investigators say a high-powered rifle was used to fire the fatal shot. Williams was the owner of the High Noon Bar in Waynesboro and was well-known in the community.

Crimestoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for any tips leading to an arrest in the case. Call 1-888-8-CRIMES to contact authorities.

The Williams' family is also asking anyone to come forward with any information about the murder.
