Two Jones County teens seriously injured in ATV accident

Two Jones County teens are fighting for their lives after a weekend ATV accident.

Authorities say Sunday evening Michael Lowery, 18, and another unidentified minor were thrown from their four-wheeler on Grave Road in Ellisville.

Authorities say the teens were trying to avoid hitting a dog in the road when the ATV hit a ditch, struck an uprooted tree and tossed both teens from the vehicle.

Authorities say both teens suffered major injures and are in University Medical Center in Jackson listed in critical condition.
