Former supervisor murder suspect appears in court

Judge Jeffrey O'Niel denied bond to Bobby Hendrix today at a justice court hearing in Wiggins.

Hendrix, 34, was charged with capital murder in the death of his neighbor - former Stone County Supervisor Duncan Hatten.

Hendrix was arrested Thursday and has been held in the Stone County jail.

Hatten's son, Wiggins Fire Chief Jody Hatten, found his father's body in the victim's garage. The senior Hatten died of a gunshot wound to his chest.

Hatten, 64, was a two-term county supervisor who served District 5.
