Man leaving night deposit robbed at Laurel bank

Laurel police are investigating a robbery which occured around 9 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say a man walked up and robbed a business owner who was dropping an overnight deposit bag at Citizens National Bank on 16th Avenue.

Police say the robber held a semi-automatic handgun to the victim's head and demanded the bag. The victim wasn't hurt.

The robber is described as a white male in his early 30s with a black beard. He was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a Callaway golf hat. He is 5-foot-11-inches to 6-feet-tall and weighs about 180 to 200 pounds.
