State Auditor speaks about first months in office

It's been a very busy first 3 months for Mississippi's new state auditor Stacey Pickering of Laurel.  He says his office has been working hard making sure that your tax money is properly spent.

"This week, we're glad to report that we've already recovered over $1.2 million in fraudulently-misspent or embezzled public funds, $500,000 of which came from the last two months in the State Auditor's office, so we've got a great staff that are working hard on behalf of the taxpayers of the State of Mississippi."

Pickering spoke to us during a community blood drive in Laurel this weekend.
