Girl Scouts from Troop 176 in Oak Grove want to brighten the lives of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The scouts have been visiting with individuals and area businesses to encourage them to buy cookies for the soldiers. This week, the girls decorated 54 cases of donated cookies to get them ready for shipping.
The girl scouts say they are sending the cookies overseas to show the military men and women how much they love and appreciate their service.
"Not only are we helping our troops, but we're helping people overseas," said Katie Pittman of Troop 176.
"The soldiers overseas are doing such amazing things helping us and fighting for our freedom," said Destinee Arroyo of Troop 176.
A-Mail Center helped sponsor the project for Troop 176, and they will be shipping the cookies to the soldiers this week.
