Some people in Jones and Covington counties are spending their Easter weekend vandalizing private property, and authorities are trying to put a stop to it. Jones County Sheriff's Department officials are looking for suspects in a red pick-up truck that allegedly bashed about two dozen mailboxes on four different roads in south Jones County.
Those officials say the suspects also damaged property in Covington County.
"Information that we've received working with Covington County, we believe it to be a small, red pick-up truck, possibly a Ford Ranger or a Chevy S-10 and started in Covington and worked their way to Jones County, probably going to be some youngsters and appears they did this with baseball bats, so anybody with information on that, please give us a call," said Jones County Sheriff Alex Hodge.
If you can help the Jones County Sheriff's Department, call (601) 425-3147 or call Jones County Crimestoppers at 428-STOP.
