War protestors take to Hattiesburg streets

Protestors of the war in Iraq gathered in Hattiesburg Wednesday at the intersection of Hwy 49 and Hardy Street.

Protesters brought their messages of peace and unity to passing motorists marking five years since the war began.

With signs claiming an uncaring government and an endless war, these protestors said they are asking Congress to pass legislation to withdraw US troops and start investing in Americans.

"We want peace on our planet," said Lynn Mclean. "There's just too much going on on this globe. It's too tiny for us to be fighting with each other."

Protestors noted that nearly 4,000 American troops have died in Iraq in the past five years, but they say even one death is enough to keep them protesting.
