Police searching for child exploitation suspect

Hattiesburg Police are looking for a man who allegedly exploited a child on Monday at the Wal -Mart along Hwy 98.

Police were unwilling to give details on the nature of the crime.

Police say the suspect is a white male in his late 30s or early 40s with short dark brown hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap.

Authorities say he may be driving a 1990s maroon SUV similar to a Honda Passport or an Isuzu Rodeo.

"What we are asking the community for is to assist us in any way," said Hattiesburg Police Public Affairs Officer Synarus Green. "If anybody has any information, feel comfortable to call in or report that information to the Hattiesburg Police Department at 601-545-4900, or they can call anonymously to our Crime Stoppers information line which is 601-582-7867. Once again any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated."

Metro crime stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for any tips that could lead investigators to the location and arrest of the individual.
