Ten men have been arrested during a gambling raid in laurel.
Around 1:30 Saturday morning, Laurel Police raided the house of George Smith on Woodlawn Street for allegedly running an illegal gambling ring out of his home. Nine other individuals were also arrested and charged with various counts of gambling activities, drugs, and possession of a firearm.
"For the last six months Laurel Police have received numerous complains from the public about gambling activities, drugs, narcotics, and high traffic and loud music in certain areas," said Media Spokesperson for the Laurel Police Summer Sumrall.
Laurel police say they are investigating other gambling raids and more arrest will come in the near future.
