La. fugitive wanted in hit-and-run death arrested in Mississippi

A Louisiana fugitive wanted on a

manslaughter charge has been arrested in Mississippi.

Ronald Franklin Shearon was arrested in north Jackson on

Saturday, two days after authorities say he hit and killed a female

pedestrian in the East Baton Rouge Parish.

The 32-year-old was arrested near Tougaloo College without

incident by the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force.

Shearon allegedly ran down Carlena Watson, also 32, on Thursday,

then abandoned the truck he was driving nearby and fled.

He is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center. It's

unclear whether he has an attorney.
