Shows pulls out of Senate race

Former South Mississippi congressman Ronnie Shows is pulling out of the senate race.

The Bassfield resident told 7 On Your Side this afternoon he would need to raise at least $5 or 6 million to run the state-wide race. He says the money is just not there.

Shows and former governor Ronnie Musgrove, both democrats, were challenging Roger Wicker for the seat vacated by Trent Lot. Wicker was appointed interim senator until the November elections. The race now pits Musgrove against Wicker.
