The city of Corinth is the latest in Mississippi to enact an anti-smoking ordinance.
Police Chief David Lancaster is hopeful the ban will not produce a large number of complaints when it goes into effect December 6th.
Lancaster said Tuesday that if a complaint of a violation does arise, his department will definitely respond.
The ordinance prohibits smoking in city-owned facilities, enclosed public places and employment places.
Smoking is also prohibited within 20 feet of an entrance, window or ventilation system of any building where smoking is not allowed.
