Hattiesburg police have released the surveillance pictures of the suspect who robbed the Central Sunbelt Federal Credit Union in Hattiesburg Monday.
The suspect is described as late 20s or early 30s, about 220 pounds, wearing denim overalls. His description and modus operandi are similar to those of the bandit who robbed The First bank on Lincoln Road last week. The suspect hands a note to the teller demanding money, then runs away.
Jones County authorities picked up a person of interest Monday night in Laurel and turned him over to Hattiesburg police for questioning. Police released the subject Tuesday afternoon.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections has locked down all prisons in its system for the weekend. MDOC announced the weekend lockdown on Twitter on Friday, saying that there would be no visitation, commissary or outside recreation this weekend. With inclement weather expected Sunday, the University of Southern Mississippi will wrap up its Conference USA baseball series with Middle Tennessee State University with a Saturday doubleheader at Pete Taylor Park.
