Crystal Springs man pleads guilty in bootleg movie case

A 37-year-old Crystal Springs man has pleaded guilty to charges of bootlegging movie DVDs.

Necko Smith entered the plea Tuesday in Copiah County Circuit Court.

Smith was charged with the sale and distribution of recordings without the display of required information.

Smith was sentenced to three years in prison with two years suspended.

The case was investigated by the Crystal Springs Police Department and prosecuted by the attorney general's office.

Police say Smith was selling bootlegged copies of DVDs out of his garage.
