Time to Lose the Signs

November 9, 2007

Alright politicos, the election is over.  Now it's time for you and your supporters to get busy pulling up all those "vote for me" signs littering yards and roadsides all over the state.  We asked the losers to do so after the primaries.  Now that the general election is history it is time for the signs to be so as well.

As I said back in August, I'm sure pulling up the signs after the fact—especially if you failed to win—isn't nearly as exhilarating as it was in the adrenaline rush and heady dreams of the campaign.  The ads are off TV and radio and out of the newspapers. Now let's get them out of the ground.

For those of you who won, it can be your first act of public service even before your new term begins.  It would also be a good way to say "Thank you."

For those who ran and lost we congratulate you on your participation in the process and would simply remind you that this is part of the price of participation.  We look forward to everyone doing the right thing.

I'm Jim Cameron. Be sure and let us know what's on your mind.
