Two reportedly killed in propane pipeline explosion in Clarke Co.

At least two people have been killed and four injured today when a propane line exploded at a
pipeline site in southeastern Clarke County.

A statement from the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency says the explosion occurred in a 12-inch pipe about 10:30 a.m. at the Dixie Pipeline site near the Carmichael community.

The communications director for the county, Jonathan Ivy, confirmed the explosion but could provide no other details.

MEMA officials say a one-mile radius around the explosion is being evacuated.

MEMA officials say the explosion also damaged five homes in the area, but the extent of damage was not known.
