Pedestrian struck and killed by car on Highway 49

Hattiesburg Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car on Highway 49 earlier tonight.  Details are incomplete at this hour, but Hattiesburg officials tell us a black man approximatey 30-years of age was hit by a vehicle near the Roper's nightclub around 8 p.m. 

The victim was transported to the hospital where he died.

Police say the vehicle had Louisiana plates.  No arrests have been made.

Investigators are still trying to positively identify the victim.
