Court date set for accused in Memphis student's murder

Three of the four men accused of murdering a University of Memphis football player have retained private lawyers. A public defender will be appointed for the fourth.

The four are charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of football player Taylor Bradford on campus last month.

Police say Bradford was killed during a botched robbery, the day after winning several thousand dollars at a north Mississippi casino near Memphis.

A lawyer for three of the men appeared in court Tuesday regarding their ability to pay for private attorneys.
The men remain jailed until a preliminary hearing can be held.
