NTSB to investigate plane crash in Madison Co.

Federal investigators are trying to

determine why a small Cessna airplane crashed Saturday in a corn

field in Madison County.

The single-engine plane went down about 1:30 p.m. with two

passengers in the field off Mississippi 22. No one was hurt.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. The

plane crashed near a private airstrip west of Flora. According to

WLBT TV, the pilot was practicing maneuvers when the engine

suddenly quit.

The plane flipped when it landed, but both passengers walked

away.
