Hopkins removes star from logo after Dallas Cowboys complaint

Attorney general candidate Al Hopkins has removed a blue star from the top of his website after lawyers for the Dallas Cowboys professional football team contacted his campaign several days ago.

Hopkins' campaign manager Michael Luethy said the star that appeared at the top of the site was removed in a good faith effort. He said the Cowboys did not threaten legal action.

Luethy said the Cowboys never sent a letter formally requesting the logo's removal.

Hopkins faces the incumbent, Jim Hood, in the general election.  Hood's campaign manager Jonathan Compretta said Hood's staffers tipped the team off about the logo.
