Man gets 4 years for driving cousin to commit Greenwood slaying

A Greenwood man has been sentenced to

spend four years in prison for driving his cousin to kill Sharon

Hunt in December of 2005.

Bryant Scales received the sentence after pleading guilty to

manslaughter in return for a deal that gives him four years in

prison and 16 years on probation.

Brad McCullouch, Leflore County assistant district attorney,

said Bryant Scales' only involvement in the murder was driving

Ricky Scales to the site and dropping him off.

Ricky Scales was sentenced in June to 20 years in prison for

manslaughter and three years for possession of a firearm by a

convicted felon.

McCullouch said the shooting of Hunt was in retaliation for the

murder of Jonathan McCoy. Hunt's son, Rordera Hunt, was charged

with McCoy's murder. His trial is scheduled for November.
