Opening of remaining lanes on Bay St. Louis bridge delayed

The remaining lanes on the U.S. 90 bridge over the Bay of St. Louis will not reopen as planned on Nov. 30.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation said Monday that it may be delayed into next year because of lighting issues.

Transportation Commissioner Wayne Brown, who represents the southern district on the three-member election commission, said designers recently made changes to the lighting layout on the bridge and the additional work will likely delay the opening until Jan. 5.
