A 47-year-old Hurley man faces arson charges after police said he threatened to kill his stepson, himself and a Jackson County sheriff's deputy.
The charges came after Brett Lamar Baria allegedly doused his stepson's home in gasoline and set it afire Monday.
Authorities with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department say Baria was arrested Monday and taken to the Jackson County jail, where he was being held Tuesday pending a bond hearing.
Police said Baria was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Baria got into a fight with his next-door neighbor and stepson, Carl Dallas Leslie, a disabled man who saw the front door of Baria's home kicked in and decided to check it out.
