Funeral services set for man shot after traffic stop

Funeral services are scheduled Saturday for a Jackson man shot by police after being pulled over for a traffic violation.

Services for 28-year-old Roy Bradley, will be at 2:00 p.m. at Old Stranger Home Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson.

Family members said Roy Bradley was on his way to the Battle of the Bands at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium when he was stopped by police Sunday afternoon.

Hinds County Sheriff's Department spokesman Capt. Ken Magee said Bradley was pulled over by a deputy for a traffic violation. Magee said he wasn't sure why Bradley was stopped.

The deputy discovered Bradley had several outstanding warrants in Jackson so the deputy turned him over to the Jackson Police Department.

That's when the officer and Bradley got into an altercation and Bradley was shot three times in the chest and lower extremities.
