Marion sheriff nominee still winner after recount

It was back to counting ballots in Marion County Friday after one candidate for sheriff wasn't so sure about the totals.

Adrian Fortenberry lost the Democratic nomination during the runoff last week, but asked for a recount after receiving what he thought could be paper ballots unaccounted for.

According to initial results, his opponent Jason Kessler won the election by a 119 votes, and when the recount was complete, the totals matched. Fortenberry says he's satisfied, and the circuit clerk says the ballots he received were most likely tally sheets posted by poll operators.

Kessler will face Republican Berkley Hall in November.
