IRS allows extra year for Katrina land owners

Anyone who lost their home during Katrina and still isn't sure what to do with the land they still own, now has an additional year to make a decision for tax purposes.

Normally, the IRS allows folks up to two years to make a decision to sell their vacant land if they want to be excluded from taxation. Now the IRS is granting an extra year.
