Prentiss High School student killed in car crash

Jeff Davis County authorities say a one-car accident has killed a teenage mother and injured 3 other passengers in her car.  Officials say 17-year old Prentiss High School student Marquessa Bayless died after she was ejected from her car.

2 children who were also thrown from the vehicle were airlifted to a hospital in Jackson in serious condition.  Bayless' mother, who was also a passenger, was transported to the hospital in Prentiss.

Officials say the vehicle may have hydroplaned.  It left the road before it struck a tree and flipped several times.

Officials say none of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The accident happened on Highway 42 near the Jeff Davis-Lawrence County line.
