School to host funeral for Alec Knight

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the school for Perry Central football player Alec Knight.

The 19-year-old all-star player died of a gunshot wound to the stomach Thursday.

Police Chief Curtis Gates says the investigation is continuing and that the sawed-off pump shotgun believed to have been used in the shooting has been sent to the Crime Lab in Jackson for ballistics and fingerprint testing.

In addition, several witnesses are expected to be given a polygraph test.

Funeral services for Knight will be held in the Perry Central High School gym Tuesday at 3:00.
