Jackson police seek to identify body of woman found at motel

Police in Jackson are awaiting the results of an autopsy as part of an investigation into the death of a woman whose nude body was found at a motel on the city's west side.

Authorities said a positive identification of the partially decomposed body has not been made.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said the body was that of a white female possibly in her mid-20s or early 30s. Based on the state of the body's decomposition, the coroner estimated the woman died several days ago.
