Renovated Laurel bank building draws interest

Efforts to restore one of Laurel's oldest downtown buildings are halfway finished.

Owner Danny Rasberry is renovating the old First National Bank building downtown, built in 1903.

Rasberry says the top three floors are done, and he's leasing those floors out as office space.  Once renovations are finished, the first floor of the building will become a fine dining restaurant.

Tenants of the building hosted an open house for the public to celebrate the revitalization of the downtown area.

"What an incredible downtown we have," Rasberry says, "what an incredible opportunity."

All renovations should be completed within 18 months.
