The Covington County Hospital's board of trustees is in negotiations with a private company to take over management of the troubled medical facility.
Contract terms have not been announced along with the hospital's board plans to turn over operations to Dry Creek Management Company, pending county supervisors' approval.
The contract would include both the hospital and the yet-to-be opened 28-bed nursing home.
Dry Creek has opposed the hospital's certificate of need for the nursing home, keeping the facility from opening.
The takeover by Cry Creek could speed up the opening of the nursing home.
