Employees battle Hub plant fire

A Hattiesburg plant caught fire Tuesday with more than 20 workers inside, but everyone escaped safety.

Officials say employees contained the blaze at Resinall until firefighters arrived. Both fire officials and the plant managers are investigating the cause.

Fire training required by the company helped employees fight the blaze safely, says Ken Cooley, vice president of operations.

"We're assessing what happened, why did it happen, how did it happen," he says. "We're going to critique ourselves on how we responded, see if we can get better."

Cooley says some mechanical equipment was damaged.
