Neighborhood group adds $500 to arson reward

A unanimous vote by the North Main Street Historic Neighborhood Association has added another $500 to the reward fund in the Old Hattiesburg High School arson case.

Board member Iola Williams says the vote is a sign of support for firefighters and police officers.

The donation increases the reward fund to more than $12,000.

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with other arson fires but that suspect has not been charged in the high school case.

If you have any information related to the school building fire, you're asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 601-582-7867, or 582-STOP.
