Mississippi's gross gaming revenues reached $236.5 million in June, down about
$1 million from May.
The gross earnings figure represents revenue with no operating costs or other expenses deducted. And it's casino revenue only - separate from hotel, restaurant or bar revenues generated by the resorts.
The June 2007 figure has Gaming Commission executive director Larry Gregory expecting revenue for the year to reach $3.2 billion -- a benchmark in the industry.
Gregory says the figure represents the highest June on record.
