Hwy 13 crash kills Lincoln County worker

A Lincoln County employee was killed and a county supervisor was injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident near the Marion-Lamar county line.

State troopers say 46-year-old Tommy Kyzar of Brookhaven was killed when his Chevy pickup veered into the other lane of Highway 13 and struck an oncoming 18-wheeler.

Lincoln County supervisor Jerry Wilson was reportedly asleep in the passenger side of the pickup.  The extent of his injuries is unknown.

The 18-wheeler belonged to Triple M Logging, and its driver, 22-year-old Joshua Carey of Richton, suffered minor injuries.
