Friars Point man convicted in 2006 slaying

A 25-year-old Friars Point man has been convicted of manslaughter in connection with a 2006 shooting death.
Mario Brown was convicted Tuesday by a jury in Coahoma County Circuit Court. No sentencing date has been set. The maximum sentence for manslaughter is 20 years.

The body of 20-year-old Sean Cole was found face down outside a lounge in September 2006.

Brown was charged with murder but the jury convicted him of the lesser charge.
