Police are alerting Laurel and Jones County residents to a check scam.
Authorities say four Hispanics, three men and a woman, are going throughout Jones County cashing counterfeit checks.
Authorities say the checks are being duplicated from Southern Hens and Wayne Farms.
Investigators say the amount being reported from local check-cashing institutions is somewhere between $30,000 and $40,000.
Police say the only leads they have are pictures from a local check cashing place.
"We've been able to get video of the three individuals and it does appear that they are all working together," says LPD investigator Michael Reaves. "Three Hispanic males and a female. Right now it's just a hit-and-miss game of identifying them."
