A Jones County family is homeless after their mobile home burned to the ground while they were on vacation out of state.
Authorities first thought someone was inside the home on Church Drive in the Powers community because two vehicles were in the yard, but they later learned the family was on vacation in Tennessee.
"That's a tough phone call to get at anytime," says volunteer firefighter Lance Chancellor. "To be advised that your home is involved in fire and basically all you have left is what you took on vacation. It's going to be a really tough arrival back home and we regret that for the family."
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
